How can I get involved at Inman?
1. Join PTA
“The mission of the PTA is to support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children; assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children; and, encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.” PTA is a wonderful way to meet people and be an important part of your child’s education.
2. Read the Inman Insight
The Inman Insight is our school’s monthly newsletter, which contains articles about PTA events, such as the Magazine sale and the family BBQ & Blues Bash, as well as school activities, such as Athletic programs and Club events. Look for the Insight to arrive in your mailbox at the beginning of each month of the school year. Have you moved? Remember to tell the staff in the School Office of your new address.
3. Visit the Inman website at www.inmanmiddleschool.org
On the site you can view online copies of the Insight and important announcements. You can also use the site to view the interactive online calendar, get information about assignments using “Homework Hero”, and join the Inman email list to receive updates and announcements via email each week.
4. Use your PTA Directory
The directory contains all the contact information you need to stay in touch with Inman staff, students, parents, and the PTA Board. Athletic calendars, teaching team and tutorial information are also listed in the Directory.
5. Volunteer! 6th Grade
Inman has many wonderful opportunities to get involved. Research shows that a family’s level of participation in its children’s education has an enormous impact on the students’ grades, attendance and attitude toward school. The more parents are involved in a child’s education, the more successful the child becomes. The Inman PTA offers parents many opportunities to get involved. If you like to work behind the scenes or prefer to take center stage, Inman PTA has a Board position that fits your schedule and volunteer style!
